The London Marathon is well known as the largest fundraising marathon in the world where huge number of runners run the race to represent their chosen charities and donates. The course is relatively flat, run around the River Thames – starts in Blackheath (Greenwich area) and finish in The Mall, just after the Buckingham Palace.

As one of World Marathon Majors, this marathon is very popular with 414,168 applicants for ballot to run for 2019 event – 347,876 are from the UK and 66,292 are from overseas.
